 before the event date. If they do not want to meet with you, what does that say about

 what you can expect from them on your special day? How will they know what you want?

 Do they have references for the last few month?

 Do they have a back-up system? And if so will they charge you for it?

 Quality entertainment companies will have a back-up equipment for every employed dj and 

 will travel with one at all times. If the company does not offer a quality back-up system to

 you free of charge, you do not want to hire them.

 What is included in the price?

 So you found a couple of dj companies you are interested in, you know their prices, but do 

 you really know what is all included in the price? Every dj company varies in the price

 range and what they offer with their prices. With some companies all of the add on options

 such as dance floor lights, wireless microphones etc. are included in the price and other

 companies will charge you an additional fee for the add on options. Ask the dj company to

 give you a detailed list of what is all included in your price, so there will be no confusion in

 the end. Everything that is included in your event price should also be listed in the 

 contract.

 Do they offer a back-up dj for your event?

 Finally your special day has arrived, your catering company is ready to go, the flowers

 and decoration are in place, but your dj called in sick and no back-up dj is available. Talk

 about a disaster. Not only do you want to make sure a back-up dj is available but you also

 want to make sure the back-up dj is familiar with every aspect of your event and your

 special requests.

 Do they have a wide variety of music for your event? 

 Even when it comes to the music, dj companies differ. Some dj companies will bring their

 entire music collection to your event and others offer a pre-selected music list for you.

 It is recommended you hire a dj company that offers a music selection for every genre and

 allows open music requests from you and your guests.

 What about dress attire?

 Professional dj companies will dress appropriately for your event, Tuxedo or Suit. Let them

 know what kind of dress attire you would like them to wear.

 Are they experienced at performing a Wedding Ceremony?

 If you are planning on hiring a dj company for your Ceremony as well you definitely need to 

 ask that question. You need a dj that has the experience and the knowledge of a

 Ceremony itinerary.

 What kind of activities do they offer at your reception?

 Some dj companies will just make the announcements and play your requested music at

 the reception. Other dj companies also offer a wide range of interactive activities for you

 and your guests. When it comes down to deciding if you want activities at your reception

 or not, it is important to remember that your guests want to be involved in your wedding as

 much as you do. At all times you should be in charge of how much activities there should

 be at your reception not your dj.
